Abstract:
The international community is well assured that China is now serious about the environmental concerns and climate change. Although the country is one of the major contributor of carbon emissions worldwide but the efforts and zeal of China’s government to become a greener nation is commendable. Based on country’s current energy mix and resources available, country is all set to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The Renewable Energy Sector plays a significant role in China’s fight against the climate change. Since the last decade, the country has led the world in clean energy deployment. The growth of renewable n China is result of aggressive targets, efficient regulations & robust policies adopted by the government in the country. The systematic analysis of the policies and laws adopted by China would be helpful in framing a comprehensive legal framework for boosting clean energy growth in other countries. This study analyzes the Renewable Energy Law adopted by China in 2005 and the recent policy initiatives promoting the clean sources of energy in the country.
