Abstract:
Ramakrishna who is considered as the God-man of modern India, is an eminent thinker and social reformer of 19th century. He is also recognised as an embodiment of Veda?nta or Vedamurti. His sole aim is to awaken the spirituality of man for which he tries to restore the agnostic and atheistic mind set of people into spirituality. This study particularly deals with his emphasis upon Bhakti. In this paper I will try to focus on certain queries like why Ramakrishna has put forwarded so much of importance on Bhakti for this era of materialism or Kaliyuga? Moreover, the nature of Bhakti as it is understood by Ramakrishna is tried to be put forth as well as for practicing Bhakti is there any pre-requisite condition upheld by Ramakrishna is also a matter of inquiry in this paper.
