Dr. Mounarik Mondal is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Advanced Design and Laser Aided Manufacturing under Prof. Dongkyoung Lee in Kongju National University. I pursued my Ph.D. on “Friction stir welding and forming of dissimilar metals” by publishing 13 SCI journals and obtaining 3 patents, under the supervision of Prof. Sung-Tae Hong at the University of Ulsan, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, South Korea. Most of my works involve friction stir aided solid-state joining and processing analyzed by correlating microstructural and mechanical properties. During my doctoral research, I have successfully established a unique process of friction stir assisted simultaneous joining and forging. Based on this invention, I have already published one paper entitled “Manufacturing of magnesium/aluminum bimetallic ring components by friction stir assisted simultaneous forging and solid-state joining.” Similar work on aluminum and copper has also been accomplished by me and will be published soon. I also have vast research expertise in joining ultra-high-strength steels, stainless steels, titanium, various alloys of aluminum, and Inconel 825 in similar and dissimilar combinations.
