Dr. Amith Kumar S.J. has obtained B.E degree from Kuvempu University, M.Tech degree and Ph.D from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He served as lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, Mangalore District during the year 2005-2006. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at J N N College of Engineering, Shivamogga, Karnataka since the year 2006. In the domain of Mechanical Engineering, with the vast experience in teaching and research he has published many research papers in peer reviewed Scopus Indexed International Journals, International Conferences and National Conferences. He has obtained research/project grants from various agencies like VTU Research Grant Scheme, KITS - Government of Karnataka, DST – Government of India, KSCST etc and established “Composite Materials and wear testing Research laboratory” in J N N College of Engineering, Shivamogga. Having the passion skill sets of developing electric vehicles, he has trained Mechanical Engineering students to develop the electric vehicles such as Electric Quad Bike with reverse gearing system for specially-abled people, Electric Geared Bike, Electric Scooter, Electric Car and these electric vehicles are made available in J N N College of Engineering, Shivamogga, Karnataka.
