Dr. Kapil Bhatt had completed my Ph.D. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from UIET, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in the year 2019. My thesis work is mainly concern with the developments of potential electronic devices for energy harvesting applications. I had fabricated and demonstrated Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) diodes and complete rectenna system to be used for energy harvesting applications. Based on my Ph.D. research work and keeping in view as an initiate towards the utilization of compact energy harvesting devices for smart cities a project entitled “Akshay Urja: Utilization of wasted RF energy using Graphene based antenna for rectenna system” has been received by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) under Research Promotional Scheme (RPS) in the year 2017. During my thesis work, I acquired significant training and expertise in handling and maintenance of clean room and demonstrated many times the research facilities to various researchers, dignitaries and to the industrial persons from various Institutions and start-up companies of north India. I have also got opportunity to have hands on experience on characterization techniques such as Raman, SEM, UV- Visible Spectroscopy, bar coating, screen printing and thin film deposition technique using thermal evaporation etc. During the similar period our group have successfully developed four products in- house namely beads separation system, printed film compression system, semi-manual bar coating and optical light assisted screen printing system for high registration multilayer printing. As a result I have published more than 25 research papers in several national/international journals, conferences and a book chapter. During my Ph.D. tenure I was not bounded myself to research only rather I assisted the department in setting up the Clean room facility (Class 1 Lac) and a complete state of the art research lab for the development of electronic devices. I have also undertaken the departmental activities i.e. organizing short term course work, workshops and conferences etc. As a team leader to my junior research scholar and UG/PG students I also helps them in conducting their experiments, thesis and research articles writing/editing/reviewing work. After submitting my thesis I had got an opportunity from Ambala College of Engineering to provide my expertise as a research associate in handling & development of microelectronics research laboratory, where within a short span of 6 months I had assisted one master thesis and a project based on Graphene based non - enzymatic glucose sensor. Presently I am reviewer of some journal of international repute: IEEE Access, IEEE; IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, Wiley; Journal of Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves, Springer Nature; Micro & Nano Letters, Wiley; Information Processing & Management, Elsevier. I am also giving my services as an academic editor Journal of Energy, Hindwai. Currently am working as Assistant Professor, Dept. of ECE, University Institute of Technology, H.P. University Shimla.Amongst one of my goal upto 2025 I am looking forward to emphasis on research areas that can extend the accessibility and usefulness of technology and its expansion to the humanity and it’s my belief that this will certainly improve the quality of living.
