Dr. Prashant Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Botany at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. Dr. Singh has a strong background in plant physiology, molecular biology, seed dormancy, and plant molecular pathology. He was well trained in world-leading research labs in UK, USA and Taiwan. Dr. Singh has been recipient of several prestigious research awards, including Overseas Research Award (ORS), UK, USDA-NIFA, USA-NSF, BBSRC-UK and Taiwan- NSC Postdoctoral fellowship award. Dr. Singh has been published number of peer-reviewed research article in high impact journals. His research paper was classified by the Plant Cell in the top five papers and included in the Nature Index. Dr. Singh has also secured a US patent for his research work. Dr. Singh is also a member of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) Advisory Group to the Office of Prime Ministers (PMO), Govt. of India (GoI) to advise the Govt of India on various science and social policy issues. Recently he has also been elected as a Fellow of Linnean Society (FLS), London.The prestigious fellowship, held in high esteem across the word is given to scientists engaged in path breaking research in various fields of biology.
