Gulshan Kumar is working as Assistant professorin department of Chemistry at Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University),Mullana, Ambala – 133207, India. He has earned his Ph.D. in "Photophysical and Theoretical Studies of Aza-heterocycles: Mechanistic Pathways to Excited-State Proton Transfer Phenomenon" from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala-147004, India, under the supervision of Dr. Vijay Luxami. His doctoral studies centered on physical organic chemistry, focusing on the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel chromo - fluorescent molecular structures, as well as the experimental and computational understanding of a variety of photophysical processes and their application as aggregation - induced emitters and chemical sensors. Throughout the doctoral program, he was actively involved in collaborative research projects aimed at determining the chemical sensing, light - emitting, and imaging features of various molecular systems (featuring donor-acceptor, aggregation-induced emission properties) and gaining a mechanistic understanding of a variety of photo-induced processes.Following that, he joined the same lab as a research associate and worked on national collaborative projects. He is interested in applying physical and organic chemistry concepts to the design, develop, and study of novel chromo-fluorescent, functional molecules and materials with broader applications in optoelectronics, imaging, biotic and abiotic sensing, photodynamic treatment, energy storage, and other fields. To better comprehend the structural information and mechanistic pathways, spectroscopic investigations will be carried out in conjunction with computational analyses. He's keen on focusing on fundamental research, notably in the fields of spectroscopy, computational chemistry, organic chemistry, and photochemistry.
