He has received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree from TilkaManjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, and thereafter, he has joined the Department of Zoology, Institute of Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi as Junior Research Fellow and later, continued as Senior Research Fellow where he has worked on the role of interleukin – 13, a Th2 type cytokine, in modulating both innate as well as adaptive or acquired immunity in the tumor-bearing host using BALB/c mice as an experimental model, and found that it is over-expressed in this particular lymphoma model and therefore, by blocking its expression/neutralizing it, the growth and progression of Dalton’s lymphoma can be suppressed. At present, he is primarily focusing on teaching and establishing a niche in his research interest comprising cytokine regulatory network and signaling in various immunopathophysiology in particular cancer and autoimmune disorder. In an extension to his focal area, he iscurrently working on the prospects of key indigenous herbs in collagen-induced rheumatoid arthritis (CIA), and tumor growth and progression.
