Bapan Adak is a R&D Manager at Kusumgar Corporates Pvt. Ltd (India), looking after all the new developments related to multifunctional textile finishes, polymeric coating and laminations focusing applications in the area of military & defense/ aeronautical/ medical/ luggage/ outdoors/ industrial/ other custom products. He received his BTech degree (in 2010) from West Bengal University of Technology, India in Textile Technology. He received his MTech degree in Fibre Science & Technology (in 2015) and PhD degree in Technical Textile/Polymer nanocomposite (in 2019) both from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Before taking admission in MTech, he worked more than three years at Arvind Ltd. (India) as Manufacturing Manager. He has published ‘7’ Review papers (in high impact journals including ‘Progress in Material Science’ and ‘InfoMat’), ‘14’ Technical Papers (in journals with good impact factors), ‘1’ Book (on ‘Single Polymer Composites’, Publisher: CRC Press + Taylor &Francis), ‘6’ Book chapters and presented in ‘14’ international conferences. Currently, he is editing a book on “Smart and Functional Textiles” (Publisher: De Gruyter), jointly with Prof. Samrat Mukhopadhyay (IIT Delhi). Many others papers & book chapters are in communications. Currently, his google scholar citation is 400 with h-Index -12 and i10-Index 13. He has a good technical knowledge/experience on subjects related to textile, polymer, nanomaterials, composites, and nanocomposites. Currently, he is also doing collaborative research work with eminent researchers from various research organizations of different countries (India, USA, UK, Taiwan, and Bangladesh). His primary research interests focus on Functional and Smart Textile Materials, Polymer nanocomposites and their potential applications, Nanomaterials like organoclay, graphene, MXene, TiO2, ZnO, CeO2etc (synthesis, characterization, and applications), Polymeric coating and lamination, 3D Printing, Biocomposites, and Single-polymer composites.
