Dr. J.A.A.S. Jayaweera, affiliated to Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Saliyapura, Sri Lanka. At present, I have engaged in clinical microbiology activities apart from teaching and the research. My vision is to be a clinical academic. My mission is being a life-long learner to accomplish my vision. Perhaps, I like to be a clinical academic with a good sprite of research and medical student and post graduate teaching. For that, I routinely engage in active learning activities. Also, do brainstorming sessions with my peers. At present I do engage in research activities such as MRSAbacteraemia and outcome, establishment of urethral flora in patients with CKDu, prevalence of MRSA among medical students, childhood acute viral respiratory tract infections, novel antiviral effects, antibacterial effects of plant extracts and synthetic compounds, medicinal value of traditional rice varieties, health benefits of meditation, health benefits of exercise, hypoglycaemic effects of traditional drug formulas and fracture healing effects of traditional herbal formulas. To become a clinical academic is my utmost goal and I am confident enough that I would achieve the goal with good spirit.
